FAQ English

The wedding is a special day . Despite today’s various views, “I do” is a time to remember and to re-tell in time . Among other things, we often forget how the photographic component appears substantial , almost everyone ( guests and spouses) will be gathered on a set, to bring to life a story, a fairy tale.
The subject is not the bride nor her partner, but the image itself. ” HE and SHE ” are actors in a random story that needs to be told.

What is the meaning of wedding photography

  • First it’s not a reportage , but we must go beyond the simple ” portrait ” . The result should yield something “beautiful”, the bride should feel like a “princess ” for a day .
  • The wedding is portrait , still life, people , landscape and much more.

Have you been inspirired from someone

  • I admired many photographers, but not everyone was dedicated to weddings. In my works I try to emphasize also the component “glamour” of the bride, the female figure may also expresses sensuality with their ” white veil “.

What are the technical difficulties portrayed on the big day

  • Speed is the most important aspect : You have to do everything very fast. Especially not losing any moments that are created . Your brain is the first camera , the difference between an amateur and a professional is this .

Fixed lens or zoom

  • Always fixed lens . With the zoom you altering the perspective of the image, while with fixed lenses you have to move,  you create the image .

Which lenses do you use

  • I love fisheye in the church, during the preparations I prefer the 50mm F1.2 , while outside you can not be without the 70-200 mm F2.8 .

Which camera do you use

  • I started with a Canon 5D and now i use the third generation . It ‘s a simple machine , particularly “user friendly” and returns beautifully saturated colors .

The bride and groom are extras or models

  • Neither one nor the other. They are characters I use to create my emotions. I pay no attention to what images they will choose in the end. However, I have often noted  that the bride and groom end up choosing the photos that I prefer .

How do you manage to get so perfectly crisp images

  • Having great equipment helps, but careful study of depth of field, light, space and aperture choices is more important than anything in producing the final product. The sharpness of a photo often has a lot more to do with these choices than with anything else.

What is your method of editing

  • Like most of my colleagues , I use Lightroom (90%) in combination with photoshop (10 %).

Black and white or color

  • Both , with digital camera you shots most with color , at least in canon . Later during post production when I realize that the color is not present, i turn the image to black and white.

What colors do you like

  • Well it’s not difficult, it is scientifically proven that our brain is attracted to red and blue and I do not escape this rule, unfortunately these colors are scarcely present in marriages.

Which product you deliver

  • I provide all the files up to 1,000 in high-resolution quality , including at least fifty post produced .
  • When required I also offer layout and printing for the wedding book.

  • Every marriage is a different history , therefore I do not offer flat-rate packages .
  • An estimate of 2500 CHF will cover two photographers , the delivery of all the files in high resolution as well as the editing of the 50 best images .

Do you offer workshops

  • When i find the time yes, often the request comes directly from customers and students for specific issues.

What do you hope for the future.

  • I wish to never lose my passion for photography.
